I hope so because I need some expert advise. I was over Carl's house last night and we were talking about my Carb. The car is running an eye stinging rich. Plus it has trouble from starting line through mid-range power. It's a BUUUUAAAHHHH sled. Once it breaks through into higher rpm's then it pulls like a banshee.
I have to have the screws turned about 4 1/2 turns to get it to run well. When I try to lean it out it smells better but it idles with a little intermittent ba, ba, ba sounds. Like it's missing.
All I did when I rebuilt the motor was clean the carb used a rebuild kit. Set the float at 5/16ths from the deck.
Hopefully we can hash this out and see where improvement can be made.
We'll get Carl here also because we'll be the one's working on it. |

Larry is the best!
He has helped me out of many a jam. I can't imagine there is much that he doesn't know! I seem to recall he might really be some supernatural spirit, with magic powers, but I could be wrong.
Regards, John. |

Dave, how has your carb been running lately? If it still is giving you trouble, let me have it and I 'll go through it. Not only will I rebuild your carb, but I'll restore it as well. After I get done with it,you will definately feel a difference. I rebuilt and restored the carb on my Stage 1,and it hasn't given me any trouble at all.
Dave, give me a call and let me know what you want to do.
Thanks! |

Ever since you and Jack called my car a sled that night going to Duchess for a burger I've had it apart several times.
I found a piece of gasket stuck under a primary jet and the secondary holdoff was so loose that it was keeping the secondaries closed even at WOT!!!!
But it could still use some fine tuning and unwarping. So I'll bring it Saturday and you can screw with it over the winter. |
